The OUT OF ORDER Project

Rodney had a great idea. He wondered if the fake OUT OF ORDER sign gag could be taken to a more conceptual place. I just happened to have some extra labels laying around, so I crafted some signs of various sizes and we began to ask ourselves… What does it mean to be OUT OF ORDER?

Interpretations are aplenty when you begin to analyze the relationship between an entity and its purpose, or even its environment. Ideas that came up ranged from insightful to absurd, which is pretty much standard procedure for Cardboard Monocle.

This will be an ongoing project, so keep checking back for more!

  1. Someone, anyone Says:

This is a brilliant concept. I wish I had come up with it. May I repost them with a full description and link back to your project, as well as an artist credit mentioned prominently each time, on deviant Art? I don’t know if you have already, but if they’re not already there, please mail me with an answer. I think they’re really good concepts.
