Retro Games + Vector = ART!

January 3rd, 2008 by Eric

Using the VectorMagic site, a very wise man named Philipp Lenssen took images for some old school video games and vectorized them! Great idea, and some very nice results!

There is only one cure for gray hair. It was invented by a Frenchman. It is called the guillotine.

Old Soviet Christmas Cards

December 23rd, 2007 by Eric

rocket.jpg

Mazaika.com has a stellar (heh.) collection of old Soviet Christmas cards featuring a glorious mishmash of Santa, rockets and little cosmonauts! The only thing that could make these better is to toss some Jesus in there. Who wouldn’t love to see a Santa-themed space suit-wearing Jesus rocketing through the cosmos? … Nobody, that’s who.

John Martz (aka Robot Johnny) of DRAWN!

December 21st, 2007 by Eric

happyholidays.jpg

The Little Chimp Society has a nice little interview with the creator of one of my favorite sites on the web: John Martz of DRAWN! I always enjoy LCS’s interviews, and this is no different. Strangely… As often as I visit DRAWN!, I have never explored Martz’s personal work. The guy has tons of talent, and has somehow managed to maintain an extremely productive blog that never disappoints.

A great read for anyone that loves illustration. Check it out!

The CONTURA Platinum 10mm ring is custom made to the profile submitted by… YOU! Simply submit a profile photo along with ring size to Fitzsu and they send the information to Germany to be custom made. Neato!

CONTURA is a nice name, but I suggest calling it The Double Take.

I’m plugged back in!

December 6th, 2007 by Eric

I finally have an internet connection! I apologize for the extreme lack of new content on the site for the past six weeks. Starting a new job in a new city is quite a transition, and even more so when you have only two weeks notice. While searching for a permanent residence, my family and I lived in three different homes over the course of five weeks, and I just happened to start my new job during the busiest time of this particular year.

I have been chomping at the bit to get this site cranking out the goods again, so expect some regular updates from this point on! Thank you for your patience!

Sincerely,

Eric Shepard

These sweet-ass rings create a tiny landscape on your knucks! They actually look pretty dangerous too.  Check out more of Zelda’s stuff at zlda.nl.

New Chris Haughton Animation!

November 13th, 2007 by Eric

I did a post about Chris Haughton quite a while ago, and he has been nice enough to include me on his update emails. This is one came in this morning!

The designer in me loves his simple approach and likable characters. The child in me loves the cow fart. To see more, visit Chris Haughton’s site and People Tree! Enjoy!

I’ve been out of commission, so Vince was kind enough to send me some of his finds around Tallahassee.  Many thanks, good buddy!

Take a look!

I’ve been disconnected.

Due to a recent move and a new job, I have been without internet and very busy for the past two weeks. Naturally, the flow of content on the site has slowed considerably. I should get hooked back in later this week!

While you are waiting, feel free to peruse some of our great lists, doodles or the recent OUT OF ORDER Project!
