Damn, I feel like a huge failure with this blog. In my own defense, life certainly has been challenging lately. All day I’m dealing with two insane preschool-aged children and a newbie to toddlerism, who has just begun to walk. I don’t have time for a complete thought, let alone to sit down and post items of my own interest, my life, photography, etc. I have a feeling my world of utter chaos will slow down a tad in the near future, and hopefully I will be able to do more things I enjoy…more “me-time”. Anyway, not sure if anyone will even read this due to my absence for the past 3 months or so….but if you are reading, thank you for keeping the faith in me to return! You will be hearing more from me in a short time to come.

i’m convinced that toddlers are evil

Really, I have living, breathing proof laying in their beds right at this very moment! I now have TWO toddlers under my roof. My neice (Jenna), who is two and half, is living with me. So I now have a three year old, a two year old, and a nine month old to take care of every single day. My nine month old is my angel. The majority of the time she sits there, plays, smiles, and looks cute. The other two, however, are constantly trying to piss each other off which, in the end, pisses me off. I called my friend, Jill today in desperate need of adult conversation. I told her that I am so sick of saying the same things over and over and over….”Get off that chair”, “Leave him/her alone”, “If a problem arises, come tell ME, don’t hit the person you’re having the problem with”, “No, you cannot have a cookie at 8 am.”

Of course there are the good moments, too. Like when they decide to stop tormenting each other and actually play. It’s very cute to watch and listen to…especially when they don’t know you’re spying. I’ve even heard them utter the words “Ok, now it’s your turn” and “You can play with my batman yoyo and I’m going to play with your phone.” I’ve walked in the room and witnessed them “reading” together, pretending to be basket monsters (with plastic blue and green baskets over their heads), having tea parties, playing knight and princess, and superman (where one jumps onto the floor from the bed and yells for superman to come and save them).

I will be posting some recent pics soon….maybe…hopefully.

and now…a scarlett update

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

My Scarlett is getting so big! She is almost 8 months now and is already in 18-24 month clothes (for the most part)!!! Lately she’s been waving hello and goodbye to us and you can tell she’s very proud of herself when she does it. She’s also been starting little “conversations” with us. They tend to go something like this:

Scarlett: bwahloog

Me or Eric: Oh, really?

Scarlett: wahbahdoo

Me or Eric: Well, that’s very interesting. Please tell me more.

Scarlett: mamama

Anyway, it’s just cool how she knows to wait for a response from us. Let’s see, what else? She loves to be on her belly finally. I’m guessing she’ll be crawling in the next few weeks or so. I looked up when Charlie started crawling and it was a week after he turned 8 months. For now she’s rolling all over the place to get where she wants to be. Also, when she’s on her back she does the opposite of crawling, if that makes any sense at all. We have the wood floors now so she’s able to push herself around with her feet…scootching, for lack of a better term. She has both of her bottom teeth and it seems as though her top ones are on their way. I’m still baffled by how calm of a baby she is overall. The majority of the time, she’s pretty content in her surroundings. Here’s a cute pic of her I took the other day…another from her high chair. She’s there alot due to her never ending love for food!
